Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

It's very unusual for someone to pay the wrong amount of stamp duty when they're receiving tax advice. There are probably three possibilities: (1) Ms Rayner got the law wrong (2) She didn't take the right advice (3) She didn't disclose all the facts to the law firm.

The IHT farming debacle is a reminder that you can "prove" anything using averages if you have no interest in the underlying truth of the situation. Example: A billionaire and 999 poor people in a room. On average, each person is a millionaire. The fact 999 aren't is irrelevant if you're dishonest.
