What annoys me the most about hashtag resist accounts - they post these flashy images with only text on them, and no alt text whatsoever. Not only it serves no purpose besides clout chasing, it's also ableist.

I got an email the other morning telling me "your reports are now being muted" for reporting hate speech. Apparently they think that's offensive and it said if I didn't stop reporting I would be suspended for platform manipulation. I was reporting hate speech suggesting trans people should die. 🤷

More generally I think the aggressive conflation of criticism with harassment, and then of harassment with violent threats, is pretty irresponsible to be engaging in. I think whining about lack of resources when you haven't even *acknowledged* problems users care about it pretty pathetic.

We need robust moral leadership from progressives who put themselves in positions where they can advocate for change. It's not going to happen unless we demand it of them. To many politicians are cowards determining policy positions through focus groups and spreadsheets over basic human decency.

You know about residential schools and the intergenerational trauma they've led to. The last residential school closed 30 years ago. Many of the people on this app could have been peers with kids who were abused under this system.

As a white settler, it's especially important to make reparations when I can. Truth and Reconciliation Day serves as an annual reminder that we're still not meeting our treaty obligations, and much of this land was colonized without any treaty governing nation-to-nation relationships.
