arnd 2010 i saw one of these fly by my 30th fl office window looking over the Hudson and it remains the coolest thing I've ever seen. it also might have been the first/only time I was *genuinely* proud to be American. like heart-swelling, tearing-up proud.

I make it a point to ask drivers of these how they like them and without fail, they absolutely love them. one driver mentioned that there is less 'surveillance' tech on them so he feels more relaxed when working. they all say they are fun to drive.

i am still on the email list of a co-op i used to live in. management is resurfacing the parking lot so some people have to park elsewhere for the time being.
Email 1: Good Afternoon All!
Am I the only one that feels some kind of way about having to move their car off the grounds, and no form of reimbursement for doing so?
I understand the need for repair, but with parking so ridiculous in the area, the lack of consideration for us as shareholder seems to take place with no regard.

Email 2: Hi -- and Neighbors,
You are definitely not the only one feeling this way.
I reached out to management on July 28th to formally ask whether temporary alternative spots would be made available or whether our monthly parking accounts would be prorated for the week we are displaced. To date, I haven't received a response.

While I completely understand that periodic maintenance is necessary to keep our property in good shape, paying $130 a month for a secured space is a necessity in Clinton Hill, where street parking is exceptionally difficult. Even if the parking agreement grants management the right to perform work, charging us full price for a service we are actively locked out of isn't fair to shareholders.

Pro-rating our parking accounts for the displacement period, or offering temporary access to unassigned spaces, is the reasonable and equitable course of action. If management continues to ignore individual inquiries, perhaps we should submit a joint petition or request to the Board of Directors to address billing adjustments for all impacted parking space holders.

Best,Hi -- and Neighbors,

Thank you for your response, --. You are right; we definitely need to remember how management and the Board treat shareholders when election time comes around.

In the meantime, I wanted to update everyone that I sent a direct email to -- and CC'd -- this morning. I made it clear that their refusal to provide alternative parking or a prorated credit is uncompassionate, unethical, and a complete violation of basic financial reciprocity.

While a petition is a great long-term tool, we don't have to wait to take action. Because management refuses to give us the financial credit we are owed during an already difficult economic time, the most immediate way to hold them accountable is by lodging formal complaints directly with the state and city offices that oversee co-ops in our district.

I strongly encourage you and all affected parking space holders to file complaints today with these two key offices:

1. New York State Attorney General’s Office (Real Estate Finance Bureau): Submit a formal shareholder complaint online at ag.ny.gov (under Real Estate Finance Bureau / Co-op Section) or call (800) -- regarding unfair co-op billing practices for services withheld without compensation.
2. NYC Council Member Crystal Hudson (District 35): Contact our local representative's constituent services team directly at (718) -- or District35@council.nyc.gov to report systemic co-op billing abuses affecting ---- residents.

There is immense power in numbers. If a flood of -- shareholders files complaints with Attorney General James's office and Councilwoman Hudson's office this week, those representatives will step in to demand answers and push for the restitution we are owed.

Best,

The next front in The War on Cars: car reduction strategies. It's not enough to just add bike lanes and pedestrian space. Cities have to actively reduce the amount of cars that flood their streets. A lot of that can be done by going after parking.

"then imagine you're double parked on flatbush ave"
Instagram post showing an update of the Flatbush Ave Bus Lane redesign, a half-constructed center-lane bus stop.comment on the post: @melaninsong this is going to make more than congestion pricing. Imagine every city bus equipped with a camera, speed camera issuing tickets 24/7, and the pole bus lane cameras .... Then imagine you're doubled park on Flatbush Ave ext... b41 comes by hits you with acamera tick... then here come the b65 another tix... then the B45 another tix...... Then a meter guy scans your registration while your head is down in your phone that's $150 plus $95 double parking tickets jn less than 5 minutes... when you go for a hearing it's designed for you to lose already... it's a scam"
