yeah. i hold out some hope that democratisation of these capabilities will be a net positive (though that has its own issues - but by god i am an open weights radical) though i entirely agree that surveillance hell is one of the very real and possible endgames here

there's a million other reasons to be concerned about ai which are infinitely more reasonable and well grounded (and i concur with many of them!) but paperclip p(doom)erism is not one of them
