Those who signed up in the aftermath of 9/11 to bring justice did so with noble intent. The problem was that the emotion and political drive pushed the political leaders, or perhaps was used by them. Ultimately into very unwise courses of action. Not just in the Middle East, but domestically too.

Re-reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Really do think it is a work of genius. Pretty small book, small chapters, generally easy to read but lots in there that is real food for thought. I have the fiftieth anniversary edition which also has an interesting foreword. Would recommend.
