If I ever do make a big move, it needs to be nearby to an active local movie theater. I feel so spoiled by mine

Alex 🌟 @nervousdragon.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

went to a screening of 9 to 5 at my local theater in memory of Dolly. Part of ticket sales were donated to the imagination library and they had a dress like Dolly contest 😭 everything is still awful but I want to kill myself a little bit less for now. what a great movie to rewatch with a crowd

The last two years I have had such a hard time relating to hope, acceptance, and positivity. "It's gorgug. Keep going" from FHSY is the closest I have come to that since then. It's just so neutral but comforting

how I feel after watching all ~125 hours of fantasy high content in three weeks

Nearly 10 years late to the party (once again) but fantasy high is so good...

It was a good week movie-wise, but a shitty week everything else-wise. Decided to hold off on any Dolly/Tim Curry movies to see if my local theater does anything.

A screenshot of the last four movies I logged in my Letterboxd. From L to R: Coyote vs Acme, four stars, Tony, 4 stars, Tree of Life, 3.5 stars, and Persepolis, 4.5 stars.

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

Another Lascaux horse. From last Autumn.

Framed relief sculpture of a horse, based on the axial gallery of the Lascaux. The horse is yellow, with an orange neck/face. It starts on the left/hindquarters as a cave painting and then becomes more three dimensional to the right/front. The background of the relief is textured to look rock-like. There are various painted lines around the horse including two that look like feathers, and 4 parallel lines above.

I love Ridley so much and I feel she will always be my number one but I've been through so much the last two years. If I was more active with drawing I'd be working on a new sona from the trauma and loss. I will always associate Ridley and Rory together it's just so sad

I feel this so much. 2025-2026 have been the worst years of my life and I am filled with resentment when I see people I love succeeding. It's been part of the grieving process for me so I've been going to a support group & hoping it will fade with time. I truly hope things look up for you Syd! 🫂

I woke up at 6am for this 🫡

A screenshot of my 3.5 star review of The Odyssey (2026): As someone who is ignorant to The Odyssey and Greek mythology in general, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Nearly sold out IMAX 70mm showing at 7:45am because I'm insane. One of the few empty seats outside of the front row was next to me, so it's almost like my late wife was with me too. Everyone clapped at the end which always gets me.

A very plump green dragon lays on its stomach picking at its teeth with the sword of a knight. A discarded Knights helmet lays on the ground beside it- the dragon looks extremely pleased.

Tbh I was so indifferent about the odyssey but after realizing that the IMAX theater in my area is one of the 41 in the country to play it in true 70mm... I need to clock in as a cinephile and go just to bear witness

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.

my god, this is amazing. apparently from a NY Times interview with Neill and Goldblum. Resharing with alt text so everyone can enjoy

How long has it been since you've seen the original "Jurassic Park"?

SAM NEILL: The last time I watched it in its totality was sitting beside Princess Di at Leicester Square at the London opening. On the other side of me was my son Tim he was 11 and completely swept away by it, but about the time the T-Rex turns up, Tim started to fart. And the draft was drifting across me to royalty! I spent the whole film in a muck sweat, thinking, "Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy's fart, but she's going to think it's me. I am going to be subliminally blamed for my son's crimes, and I don't think she'll talk to me afterwards." But she was well brought up and never mentioned it.

JEFF GOLDBLUM: I love that story, Sam. I've heard him tell that a couple of times, and it's just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.

My whole algorithm is eulogizing doctor who now 😭 I'm not strong enough for this much grief in my life wtf

If they take another 16 year hiatus I'll be 47 by the time the next era starts. Hmmm

soooo many memories but one of my favorites would probably be finding out about a doctor who mini museum collection and store right outside of Indianapolis and doing a road trip the next day because it's "only four hours away"

Kiev @kiev.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

Doctor who on an indefinite break is honestly so sad. I associate it with Hannah intensely and was looking forward to new stuff even if she isn't around for it. Maybe it's for the best. I'd have no one to gush over any positive updates with atp anyways
