This picture was taken in 2000 by an Associated Press photographer who was allowed to be present as an observer. ICE now keeps press blocks away from the areas where they are operating. One of the first actions ICE takes during a raid is to confiscate phones.

A famous photograph taken in April 2000 during a federal raid in Miami connected to the custody and immigration case of a six-year-old Cuban boy whose situation had become an international political dispute between the United States and Cuba. The image shows armed federal agents entering a private home to seize the child, who is being held by a relative inside a closet.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
