This is something AI is incredibly useful at - a quick overview of Trump/US statements on Greenland in the past year. Rather than the individual shock dynamic, the overview shows a pattern and an increasing aggressiveness in the demands towards territorial annexation of Greenland:

Territorial sovereignty is the topmost agenda item for any state's international engagement. Any threat to it, no matter how far-fetched, cannot be ignored or wished away, especially when it is coming from the world's most powerful state and the relevant countries' primary ally and/or partner.

Purely my opinion, but this is a terrible move by Streeting. You can't "work with" Musk when he is spreading far right disinformation. You embolden him, and by extension the far right to whom he is playing. His comments needed full throated condemnation. www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/elon...

One of the things I find weird about the way Trump is covered is that no one ever asks “how trump would do this or that?”

Richard Tice in 2018 on George Soros' donation to UK political groups: "He doesn't live here. He doesn't pay taxes here. What right has he got to interfere with our democracy?" Richard Tice in 2024 ahead of Elon Musk's donation to Reform UK: "If Mr Musk can legally donate... We'd be delighted."

The stories of those released from Assad’s brutal prisons are both heartbreaking and uplifting. Ragheed Al-Tatri was Syria’s longest serving political prisoner. 43 years ago he was incarcerated for refusing to bomb civilians. Now he’s free.

An interesting judgment, from back in July - national court applies the EU Digital Services Act against X in private litigation, ie the Act can be enforced without waiting for the EU Commission or national regulators to act. (The case involved the GDPR too) techcrunch.com/2024/07/12/m...
