Introducing the Positive Perspective Paradigm in the management of #rheumatoid #arthritis 1️⃣Educate with positive communication (not just warnings 2️⃣Empower by validating lived experience early 3️⃣Enable holistic care to support the mind and the joints New paper Doumen et al doi.org/10.1016/j.ar...
Schematic overview of the positive perspective paradigm. The positive perspective paradigm postulates that the early stages of a chronic inflammatory disease present an optimal time window where appropriate intervention might positively influence one’s health perspective, in turn contributing to reduced long-term disease impact. Specifically, we propose that such an intervention should involve the prompt control of inflammation with appropriate pharmacotherapy, as well as tailored patient education and psychosocial support with a focus on positive communication from the time of diagnosis. The main hypothesis of the model is that both these types of interventions will lead to less patient-experienced disease impact both directly and through positive effects on patients’ health perspective
