This electric car from BYD has "flash charging" which is megawatt charging to you and me. That means it can dump more than 500 km into the battery in under 5 minutes. This isn't sci-fi. It's real and it exists now. This car also costs only $35k USD here in China.

I'm not an astrophotographer by any means but I was ready in the middle of the night with my telescope & iPhone 14 Pro. Here are my 4 favorite shots. It was quiet, a nice 58º, and the sky was perfectly clear. I hope you got to see the lunar eclipse wherever you are.

The moon during a total lunar eclipse. The moon has a little bit of gray light shining off of it like normal but most of it is a reddish color.

Batteries start playing a huge role in some energy systems around the world. Look at California - not long ago you wouldn’t even be able to see the contribution from batteries. Few expected batteries to ever be able to compete. Today batteries can provide more than 20% of peak load in California.

Breaking news: The Mercedes-Benz EQA+ has been confirmed to have a PSC of 76. This is an unexpected increase of 15.1% over the larger EQB and a 4.1% increase over the EQE SUV. I have approached Mercedes engineers for comment.

India's Mahindra has launched two ground up EVs⚡. This is the stuff we want from Tesla. Their XEV9e is Tesla Model Y category. You get BYD cells 59kWh pack at $26k with lots and lots of features and a killer design. 79kWh pack prices not yet revealed.

I'm driving this Leapmotor C10 this week. It's a new Chinese electric car that's just landed in New Zealand at a price much cheaper than a Tesla Model Y, yet it also has Camping Mode (with a heat pump) and the front seats fold down completely flat. Interesting. 🤔
