This electric car from BYD has "flash charging" which is megawatt charging to you and me. That means it can dump more than 500 km into the battery in under 5 minutes. This isn't sci-fi. It's real and it exists now. This car also costs only $35k USD here in China.

I'm not an astrophotographer by any means but I was ready in the middle of the night with my telescope & iPhone 14 Pro. Here are my 4 favorite shots. It was quiet, a nice 58º, and the sky was perfectly clear. I hope you got to see the lunar eclipse wherever you are.

The moon during a total lunar eclipse. The moon has a little bit of gray light shining off of it like normal but most of it is a reddish color.

Batteries start playing a huge role in some energy systems around the world. Look at California - not long ago you wouldn’t even be able to see the contribution from batteries. Few expected batteries to ever be able to compete. Today batteries can provide more than 20% of peak load in California.

Breaking news: The Mercedes-Benz EQA+ has been confirmed to have a PSC of 76. This is an unexpected increase of 15.1% over the larger EQB and a 4.1% increase over the EQE SUV. I have approached Mercedes engineers for comment.

India's Mahindra has launched two ground up EVs⚡. This is the stuff we want from Tesla. Their XEV9e is Tesla Model Y category. You get BYD cells 59kWh pack at $26k with lots and lots of features and a killer design. 79kWh pack prices not yet revealed.

I'm driving this Leapmotor C10 this week. It's a new Chinese electric car that's just landed in New Zealand at a price much cheaper than a Tesla Model Y, yet it also has Camping Mode (with a heat pump) and the front seats fold down completely flat. Interesting. 🤔

This is Elon Musk, he is a businessman. He goes to other countries and ask them to lower import duties. Elon now supports making manufacturing of Tesla in USA costlier, because his new buddy said so. Elon also supported Argentina lowering their tarrifs few days ago.

Another day, another new EV hitting the New Zealand market. It's a Leapmotor C10 and it has every imaginable gadget, plus 420 km (261 m) of range for $55k NZD ($32k USD) I expected it to be a bit meh in places but it's tightly built. Surprisingly good actually.
