Agreed and its because men are culturally taught to be entitled to sex. A mistake a lot of people make is the assumption that rape culture is perpetrated by malice, but in truth its by a passive cultural force. If this is to ever be disentangled then it has to start at the roots you are pointing to.

No. They dont recognize it. A pillar of rape culture is the normalization of this ignorance that perpetuates this behavior. It may be shocking to learn, but many men simply do not know what they do is rape. If they were just pretending, then the normalization is built on a ruse, and that isn't true.

I feel so bad for all of the emerging artists living right now who don't have decades of work to fall back on to prove that they aren't AI. Like, I understand why "I was doing this well before 2022" is such a common response, but, God, we cannot just close the door on new artists forever.

Its not hard to figure out, many of them dont recognize what they do is considered rape, and are shocked to find out (and often argue against) that what they did is rape. It's not out of evil, but a wildly dangerous and traumatizing act of ignorance in which too often they get to walk away from.

This is not comparable to Pentakill going rap or something, this shift isn't that drastic, not even close. Riot is not in the business of creating a believable band. I do agree that if they want to capitalize on Paranoia, then they should be more concerned with continuity. It's been 3 years though.

Its important to remember that these are not real bands, but as investments for skin releases and hype for a brand. Heartsteel can't make choices, Riot does. The artistic merit isn't in the believability of a fake band, but in how they perform with it, that's what makes it cool if you open your mind

This thread sums up how I feel. The only thing I would like to add is that if we're to be in company with non comic artists, then you should also be willing to adapt your presentation to make yourself as noticeable as possible. If you want more eyes, you have to try to get them. Learn from them.
