Finally watched the 3rd of my dad's 3 favourite movies ("The War of the Roses" - I haven't heard him laugh this hard in the 3 weeks we've spent together this month) and it is really clear why I have such strange taste in media. His other davourite comedies are "The Party" and "Falling Down".

Finally we accept that we're not attending the appointment. We went for breakfast and I got a churro waffle. Then we stopped at the grocery store and got a couple of $5 turmeric bubbling sheet masks. Overall success. You just never know why sometimes the world just won't make things come together.

We ask around a little, we walk around the building lobby where the GPS sent us. They are still not reading the messages and the calls still aren't going through. I get a notification that they canceled the appointment but we keep trying. At this point we just want to solve the mystery.

We manage to get back home and switch to the car with the janky brakes. We head over and drive in circles trying to find the place. We park and walk around in the heat with our phone maps and can't see any signs.

We pulled over and reinflated it with the handy portable device stored in the back seat. We sent messages to the day spa that we were going to switch cars and head over. The phone number seemed disconnected and they weren't reading the messages.

I believe in a reasonable effort but I really believe in not forcing anything if life keeps interfering. We left to go get spa facials. As soon as we got on the highway, it was clear the rear tire was completely flat.

Today the power brakes failed while I was driving in city traffic but I remember learning to drive with a Ford Aerostar in the 1990s so my quad muscles got a work out and no collisions resulted from the disaster.
