Ted Lasso fandom writers who didn't follow real football had this same exact issue with Jamie's Roy-ordered training diet in season 3. They always jumped to no carbs. Footballers eat basically only carbs.

At least 6? Always and forever "What Became Of The Likely Lads" by the Libertines. Longer than 6, "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet" by Fall Out Boy. They also obviously have even longer-titled songs that also mean a lot to me, but this one knocks me out every single time.

It's 3.45am Australia time on Christmas Eve. I have to bake, shop, wrap and clean all day upon waking. I'm still just dissecting Heated Rivalry in the group chat. And then. They decide this is the moment to tell us. Via video footage. That Steve Rogers is back in the MCU. I can't do this.

Honestly, as soon as I watched it, I said "not only is it the best episode of the show so far, I think it's the best episode of TV I've seen all year," but then I assumed that was an inside thought from my relatively biased, tumblr-pilled brain that more credible people would laugh at. This is..

The way I howled at this in the cinema. Extrene specificity in jokes always hits hard for me, but this movie really is fantastic and I feel like it's still very under the radar.

The problem with classic movies is that too few of them frame the actors as tiny figures dwarfed by a Mac OS screensaver.

Every time I see a clip from The Princess Diaries I ask myself how can such a simple, charming premise stray so far from God (the source material.) Why are we in California. Why is her dad dead. Why is Julie Andrews here being angelically sweet and profoundly English. What the fuck is going on.

The thing about The Buccaneers is that they give the characters all completely new personalities every single episode so it is impossible to keep pace with any choices or emotional through lines. It is the very definition of melodrama and every moment is absurd.

In other news, The Gilded Age is... not good, is it, LOL. It's in its 3rd season and I keep waiting for it to grip me with some sort of genuine investment in any of these people and I still can't remember most of the staff's names. Not a good sign when I was ride or die for Downton by the end of s1.

Well, I did it and enjoyed every second. And I know they never would have done Tom/Mary, so in the long run, the answer was SO OBVIOUSLY Charles Blake. I'm enraged at everything to do with the Henry Talbot pairing, it was fucked up and then actor availability for the movies made it genuinely toxic.

MIT just pubbed a study on ChatGPT users. “Brain scans revealed neural connection collapse... a 47% reduction in brain connectivity. When researchers forced ChatGPT users to write w/o AI, they performed worse than people who never used AI at all. It's not just dependency. It's cognitive atrophy.”

I keep getting served microdoses of Downton Abbey on Reels etc and it's really making me consider rewatching the whole series before the final movie, but I fear I may throw something at the screen in rage at how badly they fumbled the potential of Tom and Mary as an endgame couple. SUCH A WASTE.

I'm currently kicking around the theory that the movie "Fountain of Youth," written by James Vanderbilt, exists solely as front for the Vanderbilt family to raise and loot the Lusitania in real life and pretend it was just part of the film, because I can't work out any other reason for it to exist.

with thunderbolts* coming out today i’m gonna take every opportunity to remind people that yelena belova is canonically asexual and heavily implied to be aromantic!!! so it’d be really cool if y’all could let aspecs have this one thing!!! 🧡💛🤍🩵💙
Series of 6 comic panels from “Black Widow: Pale Little Spider #2 (2002)” depicting Yelena Belova fighting the antagonist Lubyev with the following dialogue:
Yelena: “Do you want me to hurt you? Is that it? You want me to beat you until you climax?”
Lubyev: “That’s not the question. The question is, do you?”
Yelena: “No! God! Why do you even ask?”
Lubyev: “Maybe it’s your kink, that’s why. Starkovsky always thought you were a lesbian… so I thought I should ask.”
Yelena: “No I’m not a lesbian, I’m not… anything.”

These days I'm of the mind that TV shows are like relationships. It's really hard to sustain one when you only get to see each other for eight hours every three years. I formed my closest bonds with TV shows that I got to spend extended time with. We went on dates every week for most of the year.
