The Rust crate arrayref was backdoored this morning, malicious versions live 07:15 to 09:25 UTC. A cargo build in that window could have run a credential stealer. Check ~/.cargo/registry/cache for arrayref 0.3.10 and proc-macro1. blog.rust-lang.org/2026/...

Don't let yourself be baited into a trap! 😱 Two things can be true: 1. People can make bad faith claims about election fraud, AND... 2. Real documented election security vulnerabilities exist. You can defend election integrity without giving ground on security.

California's New Bill Requires DOJ-Approved 3D Printers That Report on Themselves Your 3D printer needs to be on a DOJ-approved list or it can't be sold in California. Disabling the surveillance software? That's a misdemeanor. 🐻 blog.adafruit.com/2026/02/19/c...

I think a lot about what Carl Sagan said in one of his final interviews.
"WE'VE ARRANGED A society based on science and technology, in which nobody understands anything about science technology. And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. Who is running the science and technology in a democracy if the people don't know anything about it?"
"Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking. A way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs for the next charlatan, political or religious, who comes ambling along."

NEW: The Fourth Circuit REJECTS the Trump admin's appeal of Judge Xinis's orders to "facilitate" Kilmar Abrego Garcia's release: "We shall not micromanage the efforts of a fine district judge attempting to implement the Supreme Court's recent decision." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
WILKINSON, Circuit Judge, with whom KING and THACKER, Circuit Judges, join:
Upon review of the government's motion, the court denies the motion for an
emergency stay pending appeal and for a writ of mandamus. The relief the government is
requesting is both extraordinary and premature. While we fully respect the Executive's
robust assertion of its Article II powers, we shall not micromanage the efforts of a fine

So I wrote this, and it's the best thing I've ever written. "We will resolve disputes in favor of protecting users as a whole." That right there. That tells everyone how Trust & Safety is going to act, and it gives T&S profound latitude. They're not there to rules-lawyer or first-amendment.
A screenshot from the GitHub Acceptable Use Policy. It says:
