A glass paperweight, a wax-soaked cardboard fruit box, and sun at 10am on an autumn morning - I noticed smoke and took pics (this was ~14 years ago, but re-found the pic today) It caught alight right after I took the photo. easy to put out with fingers, but damn... if I hadn't been there....
A photo of a round glass paperweight about the size of a cricket ball. It's bubbles of glass, but mostly a sphere. It sits on a picture frame in a cardboard box, one treated with wax as a fruit transport box. There's an extremely bright caustic near the centre of the photo with smoke rising from it. The glass paperweight is acting as a magnifier, concentrating sunlight into a spot on the cardboard box where it began burning.

Yes I will not be going up to that lookout tyvm.
A photo of a large sandstone pile in the blue mountains, covered in eucalypts, looking up and seeing a small fence on the top as a safety rail on a lookout. There are holes through the standing stone mass, showing sky behind. It all looks very precarious and fragile.

Red-hot pokers and Agapanthus at Mount Panorama. Planted around the track I believe cos the race was for decades practically just Ford(blue) and Holden (chev red), and they flower around the time of the race in October.
A bright photo of the plants Red Hot Pokers, and Agapanthus. the pokers look like glowing bright yellow orange then red bulbs made of multiple other flowers on the end of reed-like sticks, and the agapanthus are blue-purple like a fireworks shaped explosion of colour, all mixed in together.

Silly automatic computer decisions I keep around because they're funny; the top 5 people in my Photos.app somehow ended up with family + roman orator, lawyer, philosopher and writer Cicero, born 106BC. I've left Cicero in there for years just 'cos.
A screenshot of the first 5 people in my photos.app. It's all family, and in the middle is a bust of Cicero. I do not know why photos.app decided cicero was important to put there, but one day it did so I leave him there.

We name our landmarks here so we don’t forget what they’re called. (or so we can identify them in case someone from Kelso steals them.)

This is one of my fave pieces of palaeoart ever - bebbeh Aquilops in a creek. Lively and cute, little joyful tiny ones - and then perhaps a mama Aquilops in green hiding much larger in the background. The size of a cat or large bunny. It’s just a gorgeous evocative piece. svpow.com/2017/04/22/t...
An illustration by Brian Engh of three little Aquilops juveniles pottering about in water in front of a green ferny background. The juveniles in their brown and spotted colouring blend into the mud sticks and water, while the unnoticed green large parent aquilops hides in the plant background taking up the majority of the illustration - hidden well and not at all immediately obvious.

Just a small piece of paper likely 75+ years old floating around on my floor, a fragile survivor of a piece of mid-century furniture long gone.
A part of a torn off label from a mid-century wardrobe that states on the remainder left "THIS ARTICLE COMPLIES WITH THE RE.... OF AUSTRALIAN STAN...." No. S.1 PUBLISHED BY THE STANDARDS AS. It's very yellowed, the folds show it's quite fragile and probably acid-affected, and the typeface is in an early century geometric futura-like font.

A week and a half ago there was a small crash between a bus and (I think) a semi trailer. Half the bus concertina, ripped open and rippled. For the last week a piece has been sitting on the side of the highway. Naturally hoarder instincts told me to grab it. Formed in a fraction of a second.

Surprisingly no! One of those local names that’s relevant to local things but country or even statewise makes little sense. In the red below. Named relative to Sydney which is on the east coast of it I believe, and the state it’s in (New South Wales).

It's taking up about 2/3 of each door, and the remainder behind it is a forest scene going off into the distance.
