Speaking of Substack, I've been pretty shit at sharing my newsletters on here - so here's the most recent one which I eked out of myself over the course of a month and a half: on feelings, digital overwhelm, reading and writing (or not) deskdespatches.substack.com/p/autumn-des...

I did just write 'it's giving Derrida' in my pre-seminar notes, so I think I'm making sense of how all of the theory I've read over the last month interconnects (side note: studying on sundays kinda sucks)

We stand in solidarity with our trans siblings and are united in our anger at the Supreme Court ruling & EHRC update. Trans, non-binary and intersex people are facing exclusion from basic aspects of public life. Please read this thread that contains recommendations and calls to action.
Black text on background of Trans Solidarity Flag: Fossil Free Books stands in solidarity with our trans siblings. We are united in our anger at the Supreme Court ruling and EHRC update.

Rather than providing “clarity”, this ruling and the EHRC interim update are causing confusion, uncertainty and fear.

They have also given strength to the authoritarian, sexist campaign for the persecution and ostracism of trans women.

Trans, non-binary and intersex people – including bookworkers – are facing exclusion from basic aspects of public life.

My debut novel These Mortal Bodies comes out in July and I'm running a workshop about writing friendship as the light and dark of friendship is at the heart of the book. To join you can just DM or email me with proof of purchase in any form - I'd love to see you there ❤️ #Writing #BookSky
Writing Friendship, Online, 11th June 7-8.30pm

Friendships can define our lives, in ways both light and dark, but often they aren't centred in art or written about as much as other kinds of love. To attend the workshop and explore writing about friendship, just pre-order a copy of These Mortal Bodies in any form and get in touch with your proof or purchase!

Two pictures: A cartoon human character with a cowboy hat sitting by a campfire with a bundle of dynamite sticks next to him. In the background are a bunch of zombie-like characters behind a wall, a human running away from one of them, and another one firing a gun towards them.

The other picture is a screenshot from a top-down 2d game where a human character is walking in a green field. There are lots of demons around them and two of them are hammering at a cabin. There is a gun turret with a ui circle around it and a text saying reload.

Hi, hello! 👋🏼 I'm new here, so an intro feels right. I'm Nadia, I live in a tiny village in the Hälsingland region of Sweden with my husband, our cat Bella and our rabbit Doris. I write (mainly) short stories exploring how we relate to each other and to place during a time of climate breakdown.
A woman with glasses and bob-length brown hair wears a pink gingham dress and stands on a porch surrounded by greenery. There's a red house in the background.
