[pluribus] Helen/Carol version
TOP: Helen Umstead and Carol Sturka from Pluribus and their letterboxd account. Carol refuses to give 5 stars but will relent if Helen really loves it. Helen has some very popular one-liner reviews whereas Carol either writes one line or endless paragraphs. The Princess Bride is in the top 4 but it's anyone's guess who put it there (or if it was a mutual pick).

BOTTOM: Helen and Carol curled up together watching a movie.
CAROL: I'm sure I recognize that guy from something. It's pissing me off.
HELEN: I'll load up iMDB in a second.Part 2.
HELEN: (looking at her phone) He was... Professor Lasky in Saved By the Bell: The College Years?
CAROL: Hm. Doesn't ring a bell. (heh)

I see that New York Magazine is going to play the "AOC isn't perfect, so disappointing" game. That's so unserious as to deserve your contempt.
Text from Twitter: Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance at the Munich Security Conference — one of the world’s premier foreign-policy events — seemed to be a step in the direction of higher office. It was supposed to be a triumphant foreign visit for Ocasio-Cortez, who is, on the national level, the best current hope for the American left, political columnist Ross Barkan writes.

Though she acquitted herself well in a majority of the interviews and panels in Munich, one stumble stood out, writes Barkan. Questioned directly about whether the U.S. should send troops to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, Ocasio-Cortez stalled for about 20 seconds. “I think that, uh, this is such a, a — you know, I think that — this is a, um — this is of course, a, uh, a very long-standing, um, policy of the United States,” the congresswoman said.

The stumble is “a warning for progressives,” writes Barkan. “It’s vital to approach certain foreign-policy and national-security issues, including China’s potential invasion of Taiwan, in a more sophisticated manner.”
