It's so funny how much Douglas Adams was, like, a prophet of global neoliberalism and how much his association with the nucleus of what would become the technofascist bund (Elon loves Adams, remember!) just sort of puts into sharp contrast how useless fucking satire is as political action

I know I haven't talked much about the extremely shady and sus Dubai flight "hijacking" but I would expect some kind of spectacular Mossad-staged mass casualty false flag in the next 72 hours to get the world onboard for an invasion of Iran

The various groups that form his Universal Party comprise nudists, illuminati, small-time crooks, and a fat fellow who runs around in a T-shirt that reads “I love Jesus.” Occasionally he takes it off, as well as his pants, and runs through Berkeley calling for penance. (1973)

Imperialist ideology also penetrates the working class. No Chinese Wall separates it from the other classes. The leaders of the present-day, so-called, “Social-Democratic” Party of Germany are justly called “social-imperialists,” that is, socialists in words and imperialists in deeds;

Wendy Carlos should be on the 20 dollar bill. There should be a 50-foot-tall, solid-gold statue of her in Pawtucket. You should be able to buy all her albums in any format you want and a line of custom branded synths. She should be a household name along with Bob Moog.

Mondays, amirite
It is high summer in Cumberland, 1343. William Wynfeld is riding through the fields, young, active and carefree, the light wind brushing his face. He is pleased to see the wind shake the barley, which ripples like waves in a green sea. Suddenly the head of a little red man appears between the stalks. William cannot keep his eyes off this strange small head. It gets bigger and bigger, the red man steps out of the corn, he walks up and grips the bridle, pulling horse and rider deeper into the field. As they pass over the ridges, they come to a place where a lovely lady sits among a ring of young girls. She gives orders: at once William is pulled off his mount and stripped of his clothes. The girls slice through his skin, flay it off and tug it away, and then the lady bisects his head, pulls the two halves apart and takes out his brain. Patched together, he is lifted back onto his horse and sent to wander where he will: the young man is now quite, quite mad.

Image created by Kent Bellows for a November 1975 Rolling Stone article on Philip K. Dick; he sits in an armchair, shirt open and yin-yang medallion on display, while a tentacled horror creeps in his window and wraps a tendril around his giant reinforced filing cabinet (memorably "blown apart" in 1971). Despite this image being made in 1975, it looks remarkably like modern AI.
