FWIW Trump can't rename geographical features. Only the U.S. Board on Geographic Names can do that; Trump can't go over their head. What the executive order does is require all federal government agencies and employees to use an inaccurate place names. That, unfortunately, is a power he does have.

Trump can scribble “Lake America” on a map. Canada can close the Welland Canal. That 27-mile stretch and its 8 locks sit entirely in Ontario. It’s the only route connecting the upper Great Lakes to Lake Ontario—and from there, the Atlantic. That’s the geographical reality Trump can’t rename away.
