This is jaw dropping. CBS News still has many credible journalists - including Holly Williams-but the news leadership is clearly in the propaganda business instead. Don’t fall for *this is routine editing* It’s not.

Everybody was talking about Netanyahu and October 7.
Nobody was talking about those allegations, " Raice added. "And you know why? Because nobody really cares. That is not an issue in the election."
"Those allegations are a sideshow," Raice added. "It's not important, and I just think you got it wrong. And you probably got it wrong because you don't know the story as well as I do. And that's where my experience and my judgment comes in."

Even with Musk shoving the scale down, the "Talarico nut house" hoax failed to break containment from X, and already seems to have fizzled out in a haze of retractions. It was simultaneously low effort (they couldn't even get the days right) and maximum effort (it was pushed WAY too hard too fast.)

I agree with this, but some of this is positive feedback. Call a Nazi a Nazi in an era in which the civility police is a joke, you face no backlash and you benefit. I happen to think substantively calling racists racists was less politically iffy than it seemed. It was the finger wagging that hurt.
