This is an accurate Lego model of an ancient gravity pin lock, known as a Sikkatu Lock. Rather than being attached to a door, it is attached to a small chamber. You can store a little treasure in there and reveal it via the proper key. Hard to see in the preview images, but there are 3 free floating, inverted Lego pins that live in the upper chamber of the lock. When the lock is at rest, they sit between the upper chamber and the sliding bolt. When you insert the key and lift up, the pins raise into the upper chamber and the sliding bolt can retract as you draw back the key.
