I keep seeing arguments about Orwell (especially Animal Farm) and the messages of his stories. "Every line of serious work I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for Democratic Socialism, as I understand it." Why I Write, George Orwell, 1946

Emergent Strategy. It's not specifically for teachers, but how to build community movements. I moved to Spain this year, and learning here how a pro-human, pro-democracy culture was intentionally constructed post-franco has me thinking about the importance of education as a humanizing force.

Thinking a lot about how the NYT helped push a moral panic about trans youth into the mainstream yet failed to include interviews with actual trans youth in their reporting. It's because if allowed to speak, they'd show how much gender affirming care has allowed them to not only survive but thrive.

When the bombers got back to their base, the steel cylinders were taken from the racks and shipped back to the United States of America, where factories were operating night and day, dismantling the cylinders, separating the dangerous contents into minerals.
