@chu.house.gov My family depends on our tax refund every year. When tax day comes, we end up with a refund to cover the summer. We are public school teachers who don't get paid over summer recess If Musk steals our tax refund and you allow it, we are going to have a very big problem.

New — USAID staff received an email just a few minutes ago letting them know HQ would be closed to all personnel Monday. It’s likely some employees will miss the overnight email, show up and be turned away. It was sent by Gavin Kliger, one of the young guys at DOGE doing Musk’s bidding.

To all personnel:
At the direction of Agency leadership, the USAID headquarters at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington, D.C. will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, February 3, 2025. Agency personnel normally assigned to work at USAID headquarters will work remotely tomorrow, with the exception of personnel with essential on-site and building maintenance functions individually contacted by senior leadership. Further guidance will be forthcoming.

Keep a good thought for us. We've been given an evacuation order as we are less than a mile from the Eaton Canyon fire. We piled the cats and kids into the car and headed west to a friend's in Ventura.
