Okay so @defector.com has had an odd glitch since the site redesign a couple of weeks back where the wrong photo and headline are often put together on the main page and I was going to ask them about fixing it but this just happened and as far as I'm concerned they have to leave it as is.

I like both those movies (not the remake of Clash obviously). But they’re not very modern day in terms of what audiences expect or the cues that need to be in place. That’s without getting into whether or not the video looks good.

It seems pretty clear to me from that video that when Elon says “historically accurate” he’s saying “accurate to previous portrayals of greek myth in recent history”. Or to put it another way it’s clearly envisioning Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts.

It’s really confusing but I think it’s the director trying to tease another film he wants to make with some of the same actors. (He eventually did, it’s called Dreamland). I like to think of the stinger as an alternate genre world where the characters were still alive and happy and together though.
