I'm sure you already saw this one, but some nice timeline confluence
Cat's original post followed by a post which implies The Dude from the Big Lebowski is saying the Moby Dick quote "Ahab is forever, man. This whole act's immutably decreed."

I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local merchant princes attempt to bribe theologians and the Pope’s advisors so the Pope will issue a favorable proclaimation”

I'm really annoyed I didn't get a photo of it, but when I was on holiday in Belfast recently our hostel was at the end of Sandy Row (a really Loyalist street) and there was a flag with Kirk's photo and "NO SURRENDER" tied to a lamppost at the end

Angular fantasy characters! #art #DnD
On the left a female spell blade is holding a staff in one hand an a thin sword in the other. She is wearing purple clothes which has puffy, angular sleeves and she is draped in a purple-red cloak which has stars in it's shadows.
On the right, a mummy-looking necromancer with a long, curly beard is holding a reliquary, in which a bone is kept behind glass. His is wearing a tattered, filthy bright hooded robe in greenish grey colour.

Also btw not working out every detail in advance has the virtue of giving you flexibility as you write. You won't ever be in a position to mourn the months of careful worldbuilding work you did before you started, that now you have to toss or change significantly.

Always made me laugh how Julia is hardly mentioned in the first half of brideshead, apart from to say how much she looks like Sebastian, and then the second half starts with "so of course I married Julia"

I need something fun to read. Last two books I read were Bad Blood (non-fiction about walking the border during the Troubles) and the Information (nearly 500pgs of beautifully written misanthropy)... Probably good that I lost my copy of Blindsight before I could finish rereading it
