We got a selection of games thru Palestinian Voices in Games (palestinian-voices-in-games.com)! The games confirmed so far are Pomegranates by Gabbah Baya & Being 2 by @deltahead.bsky.social. 🍉 This showcase was made possible thx to FLIPPER by @giucapan.bsky.social & help by @shalev.bsky.social <3

Palestinian Voices in Games is an initiative to support current and emerging Palestinian indie game developers in the production of their games. It is a network of diverse international game professionals volunteering their time, work, and expertise to make these projects a reality.

Pomegranates
By Yasmine Batniji, also known as Gabbah Baya. Travel to the year 2048 and play as a memory keeper in the reclaimed and rebuilt Gaza City. You will be tasked with tracing echoes of the current war at the renovated Al-Ahli hospital.

Yasmine is working to complete a vertical slice and is currently looking for financial support—any sum helps!

Being 2 (working title)
By comic artist Iasmin Omar Ata, also known as Delta. Being 2 is a point & click visual novel set in a futuristic Palestinian space-colony. It is a sequel to their previous game, Being, an abstract adventure game about Palestinian life during the past century, ranging from perpetual grief to enduring hope.

Iasmin is currently working on the first prototype of the game and is looking for support from game producers and in setting up crowdfunding.

Mr Woofmantic Jazz programme will be opened by Music of the Night (@madsvadsholt.bsky.social), an experimental trio consisting of two veteran jazz musicians and a younger experimental sound artist. We’re very excited to have them! Get ur tix! billet.to/1671412-bsky @horatiuromantic.bsky.social

The Jazz programme will be opened by Music of the Night, an experimental trio consisting of two veteran jazz musicians and a younger experimental sound artist. Together they shape a musical language with elements of traditional jazz, free improvisation, textural ambiences and musical drones. Though newly formed as a group, the members share a long history of collaboration in different constellations. Mads Vadsholt and Kaspar Vadsholt performed together at Music.Games—a celebration of game music at VEGA in spring 2025—while trumpeter Flemming Agerskov and Kaspar Vadsholt have been long-standing collaborators in DR’s Big Band.

Mads Vadsholt has worked with sound design and composition on various animated films and games such as Miniatures, Death Howl, The Forest Quartet, Solar Walk (directed by Réka Bucsi), and Symbiosis (directed by Nadja Andrasev), among others. He has developed his own distinct sound universe, using a variety of techniques to create rich atmospheres, odd rhythms, and sensory microsounds. His composition style is minimalist and ambient, drawing comparisons to artists such as Terry Riley and Brian Eno. He works with Synthesizers, Samplers and found material.

Kaspar Vadsholt is a distinguished Danish jazz double bassist, recognized for his refined technique and deep musical sensibility. He contributes to the rhythmic foundation of the DR Big Band alongside prominent colleagues in the rhythm section. Also a member of various Danish jazz and classical projects, including artists and groups like Bentzon Brotherhood, Sinne Eeg, Peter Rosendal, Claus Waidtløw Quartet, among many others. Kaspar has been an active part of the Danish jazz scene since the early 90’s. In 2019 Kaspar Vadsholt formed his own band Nice Chair. He also composed and arranged the musical score for the critically acclaimed video game, The Forest Quartet.

Flemming Agerskov is known as one of Scandinavia’s most lyrical and melodic instrumentalists. Recognized as a trumpet player who is capable of playing with a warm sonority and always seeking his own melodic lines in the different languages of improvised music. In particular his dark and airy sound on flugelhorn is a voice which enhances meditative and spatial elements of music. Although playing jazz and improvised music, Agerskov has been associated a lot with a nordic sound approach to trumpet playing due to simplicity and transparency in his improvisations. The norwegian jazz critic Jan Granlie has compared him with british/canadian trumpet player Kenny Wheeler. He has, however, played in a broad variety of styles from freejazz and electronic groups as well as recording with many pop/rock groups. Among them the CV Jørgensen Band from 1994 – 2003.

Used @hf.co's new tool to multiply 2 five digit numbers Chatbot: wrong answer, 0.3 watthours Calc: right answer, 0.00000011 watthours (2.5 million times less energy) New post - on how big tech is trying to recreate the plastics crisis in the world of software www.linkedin.com/pulse/chatbo...

I think we have barely begun to experience the consequences of company-induced overconsumption of chatbot text generation systems. I think the magic trick pulled here - where outputs are aesthetically convincing and sometimes right enough to discourage doubt or skepticism - is shockingly effective.

It reminds me of how car companies have successfully marketed wildly oversized cars, because it helps their profit margins. I am also very much reminded of how oil companies very aggressively pushed for the spread of single-use plastics across society, despite no one actually asking for it.

Both of these examples have caused harm to living things, and have also served as an endless demand sink for fossil fuel products. I think it is clear that generative tools fit both of those criteria really perfectly.

There is a great piece out in DeSmog today about how the rising power demand for these systems is directly incentivising fossil fuel production and consumption, and that none of this is a secret: both AI advocates and fossil fuel companies / states are openly bragging about the co-benefits of this symbiosis.
