Why is the government happy to cosy up to China, but won't even look at a better customs deal with our closest neighbours in Europe? Ministers say they’re looking everywhere for growth but are ignoring what is staring them in the face.

Labour has called for the upcoming Oxford traffic filters to be “halted”. Its local leader Liz Brighouse said “Oxford residents are united in recognising that traffic is a major problem. But debates on what to do about it have turned neighbours against one another.”

Given the huge problems across Britain’s regulators - including chronic of conflicts of interest - this feels like a potentially very very retrograde step by HMG Also exactly kind of thing Labour would have railed against if Tories did it buff.ly/3VWPoVo

Good news. Because I have a picture of a street with no cars in it, we don’t need streets for cars. I know that because of all the helpful people who have told me over the years that because they have a picture of a bike-lane with no bikes in it, we don’t need bike-lanes. Sounds reasonable, right?

The Government must urgently start cross-party talks on social care before it is too late. We know the problems. It's time to get all parties round the table and agree the solutions.
