Britain feels broken because it is being held back. People feel powerless, and they can't hold the powerful to account. Liberal Democrats want to change our politics so that, together, we can fix our country.

A year ago this week, Andy Burnham told a Labour Conference event that ‘PR is an idea whose time has come.’ Now, as Prime Minister, he has kickstarted the process to deliver it. A huge moment for everyone who believes in fair votes! Time is running out on First Past the Post.

💥BREAKING: Andy Burnham announces a National Commission on Electoral Reform. This is a historic moment. The era of First Past the Post is coming to an end. It's time to transform politics and make all votes count. It's time for Proportional Representation.

Over the summer we went out and asked a very simple question: Is politics working? Thousands of people said "no". People do not believe that the current political system can tackle the challenges that matter to them. Sign our petition for fair votes - let's fix politics. fixpolitics.org.uk

Democracies need compromise, not total control. The single-party echo chambers of FPTP hurt our politics. When decisions fail to take into account the views of the public and aren't scrutinised by the opposition, it's a sign for change. What do you think? digitallibdems.typeform.com/fix-politics
