Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 29/09/2026A new arrival here at Weir HQ - Jonny Trunk's really lovely new book - Holiday Exotica (published by Fuel Publishing). Have only had a quick peek so far, but very happy - and good to see some of John Hinde’s postcards featured. 000
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Caught up with a couple of Norfolk's more senior sonic scientists last night, and stumbled across this. 36 seconds of brilliant outsider art. I do wish they were better known than they are. Hey ho - such is life I suppose. 010
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 16/08/2026If the King can do little about it - what chance us commoners? 010
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Assumed this find (care of Mrs Weir) was another one for the buzzard collection given the flurry of recent finds, but having double-checked on featherbase.info* I think it’s actually a kestrel feather. Such a beautiful little gift from such a brilliant bird. 030
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Dear algorithmic overlords. More of this, less of the other stuff please. 010
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Ha yes! Not sure if that would be the worst news given the ever-increasing car crash we seem to be embracing down here on planet earth. 110
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 13/08/2026That one for me too - remember seeing them play at their first gig at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow as part of the Ten Day Weekend event. I was managing one of the other bands on the bill, and I drove up (and down) from Norfolk, with the future Mrs Weir, in almost constant driving rain. 110
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Well, my photographs from the eclipse last night were largely hopeless - that said, I quite like this lens quirk that has rendered a shadow image in blue just above the horizon, while the main event happens up above. 120
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 12/08/2026The last partial eclipse I managed to see was in March 2015. I was at work, and I had to lean out of a second-floor window to take a snap. Although what I recall almost as much were the colleagues who just sat at their desks working away, regardless. Some people aren't easily impressed. 000
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Nice to see Thora introducing an eyewear trend that Dennis Taylor would champion so strongly in the world of snooker. 000
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 12/08/2026And Steve's no stranger to exotic head-coverings :) 010
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 11/08/2026I love a motorway me. I think it’s because I live in one of the (9?) counties in England without a motorway passing through it. Which perhaps goes some way to explain why a new compilation LP from the mighty Bob Stanley has arrived today. Looks great, expect it'll sound great too :) 051
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Ah, not ideal. At least it'll keep your hand nice and warm during this cold snap. Oh. 110

Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 02/08/2026I did something similar during the County Council elections. Surprised myself at the (verbal) rage I generated as two of them squared up to me. Sat and shook for an age after. Not something I enjoyed but something that's sadly increasingly necessary. Hope your day improves x 110

John's always do - and this one, about Penelope Keith and the marvellous Margo (which also includes references to Ever Decreasing Circles), is particularly good. 2111

Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 16/03/2026First noticing of a Chiffchaff earlier today - a welcome sound of the seasons motoring along, although as Melissa Harrison pointed out, they're also the "original monkey with a miniature cymbal". So pros and cons eh? 011

Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 19/02/2026I tried to eek them out for as long as I could, but I've now seen all six episodes, and I adored them. Slightly disheartened to get to the end so quickly, but very happy to find out that good things will come to those who wait. Mackenzie Crook's a keeper eh? 020
Daniel Weir @mrdanielweir.bsky.social · 18/02/2026Waving from "brutal" Norfolk - if there's anyone from @telegraph.co.uk out there, please be aware we do now have running water and mains electricity. Also there's a reason why we're somewhat unforgiving and one of the reasons is pictured. 010
