Been playing more of the Final Fantasy VII Remake and it makes me laugh that I'm able to replenish my HP by just resting on a bench so whenever I see a bench I say this.

Marge Simpson has some of the hilariously jarring non sequiturs in sitcom history that truly hints at how disturbed and mentally unwell she is, her love for her family is the only thing keeping her sane by any relative measure.

Cinema is sometimes just Randolph Scott giving the funniest side eye at a eulogy being given by a good hearted moron. I am quite thoroughly enjoying Buchanan Rides Alone (1958).

I genuinely am begging people not to watch the new HP show. Like, also don't buy any branded stuff - she makes money off all that. But especially don't watch the damn show.

Took two months but first in my bloodline to finish the first volume of In Search of Lost Time. Swann in Love is the best part of the first volume in its evocation of destructive love and the inevitable ending of that love forming into disdain and entitlement. Highly recommend.

Watched Blow Out (1981) in a theater last night. Sonically disquieting at times which I loved, but I also find it De Palma's most fascinating take on how society views women, especially sex workers, and to make a film that has us emphasize with them is radical in the 80s when Reagan was just elected

by my count there are only 23 films directed or co-directed by women on this list. It just makes me so dispirited that user based lists almost always have this bias for a myriad of reasons.

When NPR reaches out and says, “Hey, do you want to talk about Paul McCartney’s ‘Wonderful Christmastime’?” you of course say yes. www.npr.org/2025/12/01/n...

Is Paul McCartney's 'Wonderful Christmastime' simply… horrible?

In the decades since its release, "Wonderful Christmastime" has become a seasonal staple beloved by some but loathed by others.

As the year winds down and everyone is playing year-end catch up, please don't overlook Carson Lund's EEPHUS, a meditation on mortality and the transience of time played out during a small town baseball game that is quietly one of the most remarkable films of the year.
