Elixir: a voyage into alchemy by Kapka Kassabova. v interesting book, came for the plants, stayed for the people. Kassabova's ability to describe amazing and nuanced people and their lives in a remote area of Bulgaria almost makes up for her strange biases and blind spots as a narrator.
