No carving tonight because... I just didn't. So here's a pumpkin I did last year. This was a prize in a raffle, and the winner asked for a scene based on this part of Pittenweem harbour, so I had fun researching ghost/pirate ships and fitting spooky things into the picture.

I know a couple of people who are very pro-AI. Over the last year, their conversation skills have declined noticeably. Now they mostly talk in prompts and get frustrated when I don't pad out their argument (which is the opposite of mine) for them.

This is the only carving I have done by lighting the pumpkin from the inside, and just whittling away to get the effect/image. I very much hope to do more of these in the future, as I cut back my carve-to-deadline responsibilities and allow myself some more artistic freedom.

Everyone talks about the aches and pains of growing old, the deteriorating eyesight, needing to snooze after a big meal etc. But why did no one prepare me for how difficult it is to drink tea at the optimum temperature? about 2/3 of my cups of tea now go lukewarm/cold before I start drinking them 😭

I started to carve pumpkins 8 yrs ago because a friend was holding a tarot themed pumpkin carving competition, and was worried she wouldn't get enough entries. These were my second and third attempts at carving. Somehow working out that the deeper you carve = lighter tone just made sense to me.

I have 3 pumpkins 😁My first few carves will be logos and things, but I will also be able to get 2-3 carves form each pumpkin if I'm careful, as I won't need to display the actual carve. Here are some of my past carves on the way to the compost.

I don't know what I did the first year I grew pumpkins, I ended up with about 15 beauties, and since then, it's been a disaster. Today I composted the plants, as they were doing nothing. These are photos of a carving I did on the most majestic pumpkins I ever grew. 😭

Save money on AI customer services, as you'll need to make up the difference when it can't understand why your customers are so annoyed at something that they go elsewhere. And the AI will probably never pass on the error in your service or your customer service, so you won't need to worry about it.

Wow. Is Netflix trying to up it's takings for this quarter or something? I'm getting ads about every 5 minutes. Last night I had 4 20-30 second ads within 15 minutes and just gave up trying to watch anything as it was impossible to get into the flow. May try again in October.

I do find some people's aversions to practical solutions bizarre. I regularly have to carry a large amount of books to and from the library about 800m away. Yes, I can carry the bag, but it leaves me with a painful arm, and through the winter when it's cold and raining, it's unpleasant.
