Peyton already has a headstone in the Howard/Al Malick family plot in St. Dunstan's, though he obv. ain't under there. Donna wrote the usual platitudes for her son on the headstone. It's all a load of bollocks. Honestly, Peyton's good with an unmarked grave alongside his Krewemates. #13MorbidMondays
Commission of Peyton Al Malick by Riven Harlow. He's got a cocky grin, swept-back badly-peroxided hair, thick expressive eyebrows, a sharp nose, hazel eyes and pierced ears. He's wearing a studded leather biker jacket with deep red hemming over a white t-shirt and a faded sky-blue neckerchief. He is, as ever, fully aware that he's fuckin' gorgeous. Pencil sketch of Peyton by me. He still has the swept-back badly dyed hair, expressive eyebrows, sharp nose and cocky grin; it's just a very rough sketch. He is weilding his sniper rifle, wearing his leather jacket and shooting gloves.Commission of Peyton by Kali (novkali). He is bloodsoaked mess, but still looks extremely cocky about the fact he's probably pistol-whipped some fucker into critical condition. He is weilding his personal sniper rifle of choice: the Steyr SSG-69.Commission of Peyton by Ian Fay. He's a lot more paranoid badass and broodingly pouty in this one, with a slightly ripped maroon t-shirt and tousled blond hair. His expressive eyebrows are clearly showing he's judging you here.

Figure I'd haunt someplace I enjoyed in life... so maybe a cinema with comfy seats? A building with a bit of history, like the Cameo or Filmhouse maybe? Or a subterranean theatre undercroft. Eerily cackling & shorting-out phones of idiots switching them on during performances. 💀🪦⚡ #13MorbidMondays

#13MorbidMondays For Rebecca, it would likely be Elena who wrote the epitaph. "The world weeps from your loss." It wouldn't say much of anything about who Rebecca actually is. Most of the characters from TFTNG are extremely long-lived and wouldn't ultimately receive gravestones.

#13MorbidMondays I figured I would share some snippets, considering both my WIPs have epitaph in them :)
A snippet from Acanthus' POV in Aloe by Artemis Quinn. It says:

"Are you sure about this?" Cypress' steel and storm eyes searched my face, worry etched into them like an epitaph.A snippet from Such Sweet Sorrow by Artemis Quinn. It says:

My head was whirling as I left Sinclaire and Sinclaire. I ran through the to-do list mentally as I walked back to the rental van. I need to get more death certificates. DMV. The bank. The obituary. The gravestones and the epitaph... it kept growing. I floated in my head through most of the drive, and by noon I was pulling into the long, gated gravel driveway.

#13MorbidMondays Owen's would be written by Prince Aurum. The inscription would be simple: name, dates, a religious quote. What would say everything is *where* Owen would be buried: In the Von Domini section of the cemetery, as close to Aurum's plot as possible.

#13MorbidMondays In TFTNG - Acanthus tries to run. If they can't, then they deal with the problem with breath held and trying not to cry. Cypress tackles it head-on, fighting the fear. In S3 - Rebecca tries to logic herself out of fear.

Uhm... Peyton often -doesn't- deal with it? Or at least he can't by himself. With his PTSD, if he wakes up mid trauma flashback he'll often get full-body tremors & involuntarily lash out. Anna learns to calm & prevent him from harming himself or others, but it's still unpredictable. #13MorbidMondays

Writing a lot of horror stuff, I've thought about how to portray many phobias. A close friend has a fear of slashing with blades (especially the sight/sound involving throats or hands), whilst another can't stand the unknown deep ocean - both things I unfortunately delight in. 😥 #13MorbidMondays

Our graveyards are permeated by sounds of a capital that never sleeps; but not this one. A cemetery yawning with night hollow & unnatural as the silent crypts beneath it. Wildlife shun this place, so a feline yowl makes him flinch. Pale eyes appraising from the shadowy beyond. Fuck! #13MorbidMondays

I did make a trip to Highgate Cemetery West in London. Myself & @feyriebunny.bsky.social had already written plenty Highgate Krypt Krewe stuff based on maps, but it was fab to see the place while the Cedar in the Circle of Lebanon still stood (it decayed & fell the next year). 🪦🪾 #13MorbidMondays
Photo through the Egyptian Avenue of the Circle of Lebanon Crypts with the 200+ year old cedar at its centre. Located right at the heart of the Victorian cemetery, the tree existed as part of the old estate grounds even prior to the graveyard - which was landscaped around it as the key feature. Sadly in 2019 it succumbed to fungus, half falling and having to be removed for safety. They have planted a new cedar, but an era ended with that old tree. This photo is my very favourite by Christine Phillips.

TBH, the most unsettling gravesites are mass graves (from atrocity, to war, to pandemic; a mass grave never infers peaceful death or respect). These are most disturbing in places of declared safety: schools, hospitals, sanctuaries, refugee camps; shamefully & purposefully hidden. #13MorbidMondays
