And, using the work of someone a university has “let go” for their REF submission is one thing, but publishers insisting you affiliate to them after you have left means they don’t just own your work whilst you are employed, but also your name and identity 🤷‍♀️

When I say AI coding tools mean execution is essentially “free”, I typically get pushback yet this is reality now. OpenAI’s Codex team plans to ship either a feature or a rewrite a day over the next month. This sort of velocity is impossible without AI. Tech debt is considered a manageable cost.

My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me).
