It’s covid shot and flu shot season. Pharmacies in SK officially start giving shots the week of Thanksgiving. Book in your shots and annoy an anti-vaxxer in your life today 👍

My main criticism with Practical Magic 2: needs more magic. She’s lugging her luggage up the stairs. It sure would be practical if she could use her magic to help her get her heavy luggage up the stairs. I just watched the first one 2 nights ago. Both movies are crazy. So weird.

10 reasons why I think you shouldn’t start riding bikes. Feel free to add your own personal reasons, I’m sure there are like hundreds.

Smush
A daily word game. Each letter gets 5 uses. Except the gold one, which is always required.

Holee molee I forgot to lock my bike up out front of my work today! It was just sitting there at the bike rack out front the store for a whole 8 hour shift and then I came out…and it’s still there! Aaa!😮 Let that be the first and last time I forget that! Yeesh!

When you see headlines such as “COVID hospitalizations are on the rise in NYC. Here's how to protect yourself,” it’s important to remember that it’s not so much that people have forgotten how to protect themselves, as that they’ve been told they can forget about Covid.

Alright, I quickly finished reading The Midnight Train by Matt Haig, I wanted to read from the library, so I can move on to my other hold. This was a beautiful, soulful, love story about slowing down and being in the now…so, good thing I binged through it? 😅
The cover art of the book, The Midnight Train by Matt Haig. The taglines read: “A life-changing journey. An unstoppable love” . It shows the silhouettes of a man and a woman behind the shape windows of a train. The train is not visible, just a starry sky and windows.

So here’s my predicament: I had the 5th Dungeon Crawler Carl on hold at the library for about a month. So I’ve been reading other novels while I wait. Started reading The Midnight Train. So good! I got 2 ch’s in, & my hold is ready. I was excited and click download. Now I’ve got 3 wks to read both😅

I think this confirms it. Q’s are in Star Trek Strange New Worlds 😁
A guy sits in a thrown wearing a long red open robe, black clothes under, red gloves, and a big chunky gold necklace with red jewels on it. And a weird flat hat. A woman stands wearing the same outfit as the guy in the previous photo, but a weirder, bigger, vertically flat hat.

Favourite part of the fireworks festival tonight was before the fireworks started, there was some big lightning that got some ooos and ahhs from the crowd 😊 My parents used to tell us kids lighting is just “nature’s fireworks” so we wouldn’t be afraid. Totally worked: we all love lightning now ⛈️

That’s exactly why I like all the new Treks. We get to see the Star Trek universe from a bunch of different angles. I loved how in Starfleet Academy we got to see the furtherest into the canon future they’ve gone. It meant they had the freedom to make things as different as they want 😊

So, it’s been 10 days since I logged a run. And I caught a cold last week. Still getting over it. And tomorrow morning I’m signed up for a charity 5k run. It’s always the least attended run I take part in. Less than 100 pre-registered. It’s such a small sample size - I just don’t want to be last! 😅

Just finished Saltcrop by Yume Kitasei. Loved the whole thing. The complex sisters relationship (I have 2 sisters too!), the not-too-distant, climate-disastrous future setting, the big corporate big bad. Could not put it down :) What should I read next?
The cover of Saltcrop by Yume Kitasei. It shows a small sailboat in the distance, on deep water. Very colourful.

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

The thing about ripping out bike lanes is it doesn't stop us from biking, it just makes it more dangerous. And if I feel unsafe, I take the lane.

One fun thing about going to the travelling circus yesterday was that I’ve actually tried most of the beginner-versions of the stuff they did on stage. Juggling, tight rope(well, slack line),big hoop, aerial silk, unicycle, balancing stuff on my face… It’s amazing what ppl can do with practice🤩
Two jugglers are pass-juggling LED lit juggling clubs. One is on a unicycle A tight rope walker balances on one foot on the tight rope.A man is inside a big hoop, spinning like how a coin spins as it looses speed, along its edges.

Anyone else ever notice that when Gen Z’s are typing on a keyboard, they never use the shift key to capitalize things? I’ve worked with quite a few students at the pharmacy, and all the younger ones put cap locks on for the single letter they’re capitalizing and then un-cap locks to continue typing.

Bike parking is so sparse on 8th street. This was the best I could find that was anywhere near where I was going :/
A traffic island in the middle of a parking lot has some big decorative rocks and a light post in the middle. My bike is perched up on the rocks to be tightly locked to the light post.

It has been my experience that if you have never had bangs you aren’t allowed to have bangs. Anytime I go to the salon and ask about bangs they’re like “have you ever had bangs?” And I’m all,“not since I was a kid” Then they’ll be like, “we’ll give you something you can still tuck behind your ear”

Reminds me of the time I was a passenger in my friend’s car. He honked at some pedestrians and yelled “don’t walk on the road!” And I’m like “dude, look! There is no sidewalk.” He calmed down. He had a long day. I told him, “wanna get mad? get mad at whoever designed this place with nowhere to walk”
