I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

Have decided to add a bit more whimsy.
Small brick lined square in my front yard, nestled between railed porch and concrete steps, filled with pea gravel. A garden gnome sits in meditation amongst glass mushrooms.

How am I supposed to accomplish my ambitious goals for the day when it's raining and I have this perfectly good porch from which to watch said rain?

I feel this. I decided a few years ago that if anyone had the audacity to look sneeringly in my direction at a hotel breakfast bar, I would respond with "what are you doing in my house?" Like an escaped dementia patient thinking I'm somewhere else.

Last reskeet: complete fucking tangent and irrelevant in this rising tide of doom, but the snippet of text in that screenshot is a fundamental detail that Brian Herbert and KJA either missed or ignored and their prequels are terrible not solely because of it but it is a big factor.

Not remotely any kind of expert, but all I can think is GIGO. Your AI is insufficiently reluctant to unleash nuclear armageddon? Only one way that happens.

Annoyed but also somewhat amused to find my novel Serotonin Overload, in which a corporate trained AI can only imagine success in capitalist terms and thinks of humans as "inventory," and in which GIGO is a *major* theme, has apparently been stolen for the training of AI. Hilarious.

This absolutely fascinates my language nerd. When we say "isn't he," i.e. "is he not?" to answer in the affirmative is an agreement that he is ... so yes, this headline breaks Betteridges. BUT the literal meaning of the construction "is he not?"
