The one thing I miss about twitter and my reach there (I had more than twice as many followers as I do here) is that it never took more than a day for me to sell out a run of prints. It usually took no more than a couple of hours. Those really were the days.

Today should’ve been my mom’s 70th birthday. She didn’t live to see 44, which is how old I’ll be next month; a cosmic injustice that I’ll never finish grappling with. She had a face that I literally saw stop traffic, and is the reason I have any clue how to be a mom. She was fabulous and I miss her.

Starting when I was little girl, my dad, apropos of something or apropos of nothing at all, would say, “Remember Bri, all men are scum.” It was always said lightly, but it was never light. As I got older I understood there was a scum hierarchy, but it never changed the message.
