I am a little conflicted because, honestly? Games that are original are also more likely to be alienating to lots og people. It’s very, very, VERY hard to discover a large audience as opposed to simply being hyper niche (which isn’t a bad thing, artistically).

I don’t think that makes sense. You can’t act outside your programming, that’s also your programming (I don’t think humans could act outside the ‘programming’ of the brain either). Their output can be extremely difficult to predict due to all the math involved, but the underlying logic is known.
