With traveling to London every weekend for my PhD, the kids want to come too. We've come down together for half term. Night one: girl was sick in the air bnb. All over the bed, floor and her brother, who somehow was not woken up by the vomit pool around his head. Praying things get better from here!

My only new years resolution for 2025 is to prioritise rest. To not see it as wasted time if I need to go to bed at 7pm or bingewatch a series to recharge. The idea that I constantly need to be hustling has only led to me feeling burned out and worthless and I don't want to do it anymore.

I never got much interaction over there, but this thread hit hard. Section 21 notices are thankfully going to be banned early next year. Of course, this doesn't help the situation I was in as my landlord was selling the house (reformed section 8). Three years on, I still don't feel at home.

Back in August (while I was in hospital giving birth) we were served with a section 21 notice as our landlords decided to sell the house. Due to COVID, they had to give us four months – making our vacate by date 12th December. We decided we would try and buy the house ourselves.

We have wooden advent calendars for the kids that we refill every year for the kids. Of course, this year we forgot. Jelly eyeballs left over from Halloween went down surprisingly well in drawer number one.

My daughter has put a full stop at the end.

Mum and Dad are both capitalised, which is correct as they are being used as proper nouns in this context.

Dad is a bland looking man in a flatcap and waistcoat. Mum is an equally bland looking woman in a frumpy skirt. They belong in the old Hovis adverts. They are standing next to a potato shaped twat in a bowtie - Mr Whoops. He is about half their height.
