Dopamine and sodium appetite! Sodium appetite causes a 'sign change' in the taste of hypertonic NaCl solutions. We've previously shown that generation of the appetite recruits phasic dopamine to the taste of NaCl; here we show the 'derecruitment' process during satiation.

This is so great to see! Our daughter was diagnosed at a well-child check up at age 12 after a 'routine' (all too rare in the US) urine dip test for glucose. We caught #T1D early and "being forewarned IS being forearmed!". Too many kids are diagnosed in ketoacidosis. @jamiedroitman.bsky.social
