I was in a position years ago where I should have said something, and didn't. I was wrong, and I hope she's ok. I've been in similar situations a couple of times since, and have said something every time. Got a knife pulled on me once. Didn't keep me from doing it again.

I do forget that Wicked really isn't a prequel and actually runs parallel to Wizard of Oz (haven't seen the new movie yet). There actually ARE multiple sequels to Wicked--I've only read Son Of A Witch, it's very good--but yeah I'm with you on all fronts here.

When something is all around you all the time, the only way not to care is to actively decide it's unimportant. I have to remind myself that, for most people most of the time, "not caring" is a passive thing, not an active choice. It's why I rarely engage in anything meaningful on socials anymore.

Instead of sending someone out to turn just off an alarm, imagine someone helps you determine whether there's actually a fire, whether the fire actually affects you, and what you can actually do (incl. in your brain), and then uses that insight to make a plan for the next time the alarm goes off.

Hey there's a lot of restricted commenting on that thread so this isn't necessarily the best place but: after a LOT of CBT, I found a therapist who practices ACT and it's made a huge difference. It's harder to find because there's no central certifying board, but it's night and day.
