I did not enter any games for Eclipse and planned on just staffing since this last couple of years has just not been conducive to committing to this sort of thing, but I'd like to see what I can pick up and learn while I'm there and try again next year.

I went into that event practicing as hard as I felt like I could with the resources I had at the time (no local folks and no internet) and did everything I felt like I could do and got absolutely obliterated in both of my sets, to the point that I really didn't even get to play. LOL

I have slumped hard with playing fighting games since covid and I never got good at them to begin with. I haven't felt this motivated to play since like, the last MiMas so maybe I'll actually try to make a push at it again and be more consistent.

I have no idea how to use most of Zohar's kit, but I practiced a combo on both sides for a few days and then managed to win a set in netplay my first go around tonight. I struggle to even win matches normally, so I'll take it for now.

I am not gonna be in the best of shape come time for Eclipse. This has not been a good year for good eating habits.

I think I have a Zohar BNB? It's pretty easy to just do stuff > 236ACC. I feel like some of the pauses in her attack animation gels just right with my molasses brain trying to do hit confirms.

I rocked a really fun Decidueye/Drifblim team in Sword and Shield VGC and it ruled for the small window of time it was good.

Most likely the exact opposite because that lighter will find a way to fuck with you at that exact moment almost every single time.

A friend asked me about the time the original author of sonic.exe tried to fake his death to get out of refunding me $20 for a commission he owed me and I realized I’ve never shared that story here on Bluesky

There was a Lain exhibit, & I realized a CRT setup either needs to be 100% square & symmetrical, or messy as shit. Anything in the middle is just extra noise. It's kind of like how nobody talks about "mid" anime. You want something to go fully in one direction. The middle ground is where it sucks

Zohar buttons are very fun, but I can't seem to figure out what combos to use or how to hit them. LOL

I just want it to be known that I was saying Garchomp Z was good before Reg MC started. Fast mono-Dragon type with a solid SpAtk stat and good movepool was pretty much always gonna be good. It losing its Ground typing and "only" getting Levitate was probably a blessing.

Walmart sells a generic/Tyson one for like $4/lb, which is still entirely too expensive. The one closest to us stopped selling them a long time ago, so I have to pick them up from a couple of towns over when we're in that direction.

This is a 4.5 gallon bucket so this is gonna be a lot of work to can.

A bucket in a sink filled at least 3/4ths with strained homemade chicken stock

Emi Sakura's post about PAC is breaking my heart

The first time I spoke with him was in Ireland in 2018. When you're living in an English-speaking country, Japanese suddenly reaches your ears in a startling way. Our conversations always started with his "Otsukaresamade-su." Backstage, I wouldn't sense his presence at all, but then those words would arrive right by my ear like the wind. And so I'd search for him. There's no English phrase that translates it just right—its meaning encompasses hello, long time no see, glad to see you, good work, goodbye, good night, see you later, and all sorts of other things rolled into one. I think it's the kind of greeting that comes from the way he's confronted pro wrestling in Japan. It's time. As always, I grab my bag and climb into the car. I can't believe the show goes on. Today and from here on out, forever, I know I'll keep straining to listen. Thank you, PAC.

my little pac story was at a dguk meet and greet. i wanted to tell masato yoshino that he was my favourite wrestler and pac offered to translate. he turns to yoshino and in broken english shouts “YOU. HIM. FAVOURITE WRESTLER” and yoshino is very appreciative and shakes my hand.

I remember catching an invite from you however many years back and I've always wanted to make it out. Right now it kinda falls too close to Eclipse/CoN, but I think it looks awesome and I'd love to make it out there one day.

Additionally, I rendered about 5 lbs of brisket trimming last night and have a big container of beef tallow.

I'm going through my annual tradition of making a metric fuckton of chicken stock today. I decided to ramp up the amount of chicken to 10lbs per gallon of water and cut back on the vegetables this time. I'll start canning all of it tomorrow.

A pot filled with a combination of chicken parts - 3 lbs each of declawed chicken feet and wings and 4 lbs of bone-in breasts

The same pot of chicken with additional herbs and vegetables and 1 gallon of spring water

The chicken and vegetables being strained after 90 minutes of cooking at 15psi

The first batch of stock before final straining and skimming

I would probably play fighting games more consistently if it wasn't so hard for me to stay awake when I'm playing games anymore. It's genuinely easier for me to get up and clean house or go to work than it is for me to just relax and enjoy something these days.

I had 2 separate people cut me off from behind while merging onto a highway today and one of them was a jacked up pickup that rode my bumper for a couple of miles beforehand and flipped me the bird/blasted their horn as they did it. They were flying past people on an 80MPH highway after.
