The lack of apartments in your neighborhood puts you outside the programs target demographics, but it might work. Alternatively, have you considered setting up a Cheapass data center? I hear there's plenty of public funds available for that kind of private infrastructure investment.

As Cory Doctorow described it, AI is in the business of selling 100 dollar bills for five dollars. It's all built on a shell game of shuffling valuation between the members of the tech bros club.

I take it that you've missed the patern if you find this incomprehensible. Let me help point it out. Trump picks only unqualified individuals for ANY position, not just ambassadors.

1) The GOP is buying advertising to promote Susan Collins. Sit with that. That's pretty revealing. 2) The GOP remains unable to navigate the real world. From Rubio's use of badly mislabeled AI made maps in Rio de Janeiro to being unable to differentiate between Portlands. #OrganicStupidity

Hi, I’m a sighted alt text user! Here are some reasons I use it: - Slow Internet on an airplane - I’m over 40, I have no idea who that celebrity is - Bluesky broke images again - My vision sucks and that text is too small to read otherwise - Conveys further context and authorial intent

This is what leadership looks like. Real wins for real people. This should be the norm, not an outlier. It could be, but it will only happen once people stop believing the narrative fallacy that conservatives are the fiscally responsible ones and progressives want unreasonable things.

Robert Muller & Jack Smith brought the receipts that left no doubts that our adversary in the cold war had comprised the Republican party. Then Putin's assets in the Senate acquitted him, firmly confirming this fact in my mind. Now we're importing Russian diesel. The proof is in the pudding.

Social media is dreadful for nuances. This why "flood the zone" has been so effective at paralyzing push back against these efforts. I try to stay out of the echo chamber of SM, but completely shutting it out also serves the agenda of those who want to own the world. I miss the Cronkite era.

I'm not suggesting a direct relationship in this meger, but more of a patern behind the trend. The folk of the Epstein crowd that have been manipulating public perceptions on social media for the past dozen+ years don't concern themselves with boundaries and boarders when advancing their agenda.

There's no way that the massive consolidation of media ownership by individuals who believe in eugenics has anything to do with the promotion of this false narrative. That's why the impending Skydance megameger is such a brilliant idea. More consolidation is the obvious solution for this dilemma.

The mid-terms will show either a story of a gullible nation that wakes up and rejects the foreign adversarial assets that have infested our politics. Or it will show us to be the behemoth of indifferent cruelty we currently have unleashed upon the world. Anyone not voting, has voted the latter.

I really hope we do some clearing out of the democratic deadwood this year from the Ship of Theseus that is the body of our democracy. To much of today's depravity is from the failure to enact effective guardrails when this generation held power. Time for the Mandami generation to take charge.

Subverting democracy isn't new to John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, or Amy Coney Barrett. All three were on George W. Bush's "Florida Recount Team," which lay the groundwork for stopping vote counting in Florida—and Bush v. Gore, the politically-motivated SCOTUS decision that gave Bush the election.

I've always loved the Nighthawks painting by Edward Hopper. This version includes Henson and Oz behind the puppets, appropriate as they are the ones who instilled the personality & souls into these icons from my childhood. I'm pondering how Oz would have operated his 3 characters simultaneously.

Henson has been a major inspiration throughout my life. His vision. His quiet supportive leadership of a menagerie of creative geniuses that gravitated around him. He did so much. It's his birthday today. When Jim Henson reached my age, he'd already been dead for 5 years. I'll never catch up.

This is a move to cut the legs out from any legitimate journalists left in the room. I'd take a leave until the banned orgs are restored if I was on this beat. Like with the Pentagon, it's not worth sacrificing integrity for access. Reporters, keep shining the light of truth on these criminals.2/2

Basically JD is saying that anyone at the WH with press credentials is a shill for this administration. At this point any adversarial engagement by the remaining press corps must be viewed with a suspicion of being performative theater. Legitimate criticism is not welcome and will be removed. 1/2

Years ago, I recommended the slogan “Reimagine Public Safety”. It centers *safety*, which allows us to highlight the ways aggressive policing makes us all *less safe*, and encourages finding new ways to protect communities from harms. “Defund”, but not scary. 😏

I too miss Papa Christmas. He was a very good man. I have a long sleeve "Every day is Christmas" shirt, that I received as a gift from I remember not. Normally I would reject keeping such a thing, but that particular phrase reminds me of him. I try to embody his generous spirit whenever I wear it.
An open shirt drawer in a wooden dresser, features a solid red, long sleeve shirt with block white all caps text reading " EVERY DAY IS CHRISTMAS " with a sub-line in a smaller gold, all caps text "LIFE IS GOOD "

There is an image of a Christmas tree with dots for ornaments and a 5 point star on top, next to the 'every day is' which has been split on two lines of text above Christmas.

The MAGA gear is more expensive now while the grift is still rooting for every last gullible dollar they can claim. Doubtless, a discount bin is in its near future. Finally we'll get to see photos from third world villages where these will have landed as bulk remnants before the end of a decade.

Translation: After less than two years under this administration, the CDC is running like a Trump family business. Poorly. Basically they have buggered up the books on accommodations so badly they have asked everyone to start over at the beginning. It's all just cruelty posing as incompetence.

Of course stuff eats space, and it carries attachments. If you are trying to minimize your footprint and/or the psychic overhead of your past, there are upsides to downsizing ones estate, one thing at a time if need be. The choice be yours. Just own the decision. Does that help?

Appolo gave Cassandra the gift of perfect prophecy. Then after she refused to sleep with him, invoked a curse that no one would believe her. That whole Trojan war thing could have been prevented if people listened to her. It feels like Appolo has been prolific putting his curse on our generation.

Answer to a dumb question: Because "class action" is the clearer usage. It is both shorter in number of words and number of letters. Language doesn't have to be hard, unless you are pushing an agenda. Then it becomes about shifting perceptions and not clarity.

Here’s the strategic core: cheating operations work on the margins. They flip close races. They exploit recounts, certification fights, faithless officials, and friendly courts. What they cannot do, what no operation in American history has ever managed to do, is steal a landslide.

It’s pretty wild that he has decided to compare himself to Teddy Roosevelt, a man who certainly would have despised him. Teddy was anti-corruption, anti-monopoly, and came from old money. A crass self-enriching grifter like Trump would have been shown the door at the Roosevelts. Roosevelt:
There can be no crime more serious than bribery. Other offenses violate one law while corruption strikes at the foundation of all law. Under our form of Government all authority is vested in the people and by them delegated to those who represent them in official capacity. There can be no offense heavier than that of him in whom such a sacred trust has been reposed, who sells it for his own gain and enrichment; and no less heavy is the offense of the bribe giver. He is worse than the thief, for the thief robs the individual, while the corrupt official plunders an entire city or State. He is as wicked as the murderer, for the murderer may only take one life against the law, while the corrupt official and the man who corrupts the official alike aim at the assassination of the commonwealth itself. Government of the people, by the people, for the people will perish from the face of the earth if bribery is tolerated. The givers and takers of bribes stand on an evil pre-eminence of infamy. The exposure and punishment of public corruption is an honor to a nation, not a disgrace.
The shame lies in toleration, not in correction.... If we fail to do all that in us lies to stamp out corruption we can not escape our share of responsibility for the guilt. The first requisite of successful self-government is unflinching enforcement of the law and the cutting out of corruption.
