I mentioned free clothes swaps on my stream recently! We held one locally and it was a big hit! Love the idea of pay what you can haircuts too :) hope more areas do this instead of donating to goodwill, just give your unwanted clothing back to the community that needs it!

For certain values of finished (I reserve the right to add more if I feel like it) I finished adorning my pants, yay! They go swell with my ever-evolving jacket.

Green khaki cargo pants! I adorned the front side with many patches, silkscreen printed punk patches of insects, an antique image of a clown, a military patch, and a smashing image of a cymbal crashing grinning monkey toy, all collaged with cloth scraps, stitched in different styles and weights of thread and embroidery floss.

I adorned the back side with many patches, silkscreen printed punk patches of insects a snake, a cool circus poster of a parade with fanciful dressed up elephants riding a bike and walking erect with a fan, a military patch, and a smashing image of a woman in a top hat, all collaged with cloth scraps trim and ribbon, stitched in different styles and weights of thread and embroidery floss.

The box I was carting around looked like a mobile maker's fair. I had two bags of MistyFuse iron on mesh, seventy-five twists of inherited vintage embroidery floss in different weights and colors, a canister of June Tailor basting spray, a splendid sewing machine given to me by a friend, a salt shaker half full of long sashiko needles, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored scrap swatches, trims, braids, ribbons, fabulous silkscreened punk patches including a maniacal cymbal crashing monkey toy, vintage circus patches, and a couple of military badges... and also a book about sashiko visible mending, a paper of fine darners, a brass thimble, three sizes of sharp scissors, and two pairs of needle nose pliers.
Not that I needed ALL of that for the pants, but once you get locked into a serious patch collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

The khaki bomber jacket with faux fur trim on the hood and fancy marching band braid and metallic soutache curlicues on the sleeves came first, but it may never be done. It also is adorned with collaged fabric scraps, vintage circus patches, military badges from flea markets and thrift stores, silkscreened punk patches, and a large back patch of a woodcut image of a bat.
