Thinking about the Goodwill cashier who thought crochet's "magic ring" was called a "miracle circle." Y'know what, close enough. #crochetsky

Bad news: don't think I'm getting the short story into the library's local author collection, cuz all authors in the anthology have to be local Good news: now I know the procedure to get a full book in there. #booksky

An indie author saw my post about how some indie authors don't read my review policy. But don't worry, they totally read it And sent me a DM review request on Instagram. Which is not where my review policy says to send requests to. I just 😐 #booksky

I'm so aware of the flaws in The Mummy (1999) that I invited a friend from grad school who had gone on actual archaeological digs in Egypt to watch it just to torment her with said flaws. At one point, she screamed "THE NILE DOESN'T EVEN GO THERE." It was amazing.

Exactly. The difference between genuine love of an art form and just wanting the reputation of being an artist is whether or not you take in the art from others.

I tell y'all this as someone who once had a monetized TikTok account: It's not nearly as worth it as they tell you. Majority of users will NOT follow your work on any other platform and communities like booktok are oversaturated to hell.

New form of pranking my husband has been unlocked.

Screenshot of a Facebook post from Alex McCarthy that reads "I support my wife's decision to play the flute except when I forget she plays the flute and get excited because I think it's the ice cream truck."

There are too many fit and capable protagonists in LitRPGS. I wanna see more dumbasses stumbling their way to victory through a combination of sheer luck and games secretly lowering difficulty behind the scenes. #booksky

My biggest writing hot take: "Just write" is pointless advice. Blocks exist for a reason and can't be overcome by "just do it." Also, the more you half-ass your writing, the harder editing will be. #writesky #amwriting

One of the surreal parts of insulin resistance is when the same food fads making people angry are really helpful to you. Like, yeah, I know the zero sugar craze is mostly for weight loss, but I can finally drink Baja Blast without getting sick, so I can't really be a hater here.

Once again reminding indie authors: KINDLE UNLIMITED DOES NOT COUNT AS A REVIEW COPY. It's a paid subscription and doesn't actually let readers keep their copies. Not to mention the ethics of trying to get even more out of the person already giving you free marketing. #booksky

A white woman in a green kerchief and round wire frames glasses gives the camera a wry half-smile.
