End of a blacksmith's working day

This is "the missing missing reasons". The victims are never interviewed, or their claims are always heavily paraphrased or brushed over. (Irreversible Damage and other trans panic stories also conveniently never interview the "brainwashed kids") issendai.com/psychology/e...

In the same vein, members who confront their estranged children report that their children “screamed at them” or “used such foul language that I was shocked,” but don’t repeat anything their children said. The mother who wrote “A letter to… my estranged daughter” describes her daughter’s voice as “A small, frightened whisper, which, though I knew it to be in your voice, didn’t seem like you at all”, but doesn’t say what her daughter whispered; the letter is marked by the complete absence of the daughter’s words, even as reported speech.

When members do say what the allegations were, they paraphrase heavily, choosing the most trivial offenses and trimming away all context.

My Judaica publisher told me rabbis keep filling his Talmud margins so I asked how many margins he has and he said he just goes to print and adds wider margins afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding whitespace to rabbis and then his printer started crying.

it's honestly insulting how everyone is still expected to pretend that things still work on rational rules and expectations and rich people aren't just making a mockery of the concept of law and doing whatever and getting billions of dollars for it and then firing 5000 people

I think a lot of them think the trend is revolutionary is because they don't watch much anime (yes even the ones who say they watch anime) so they think a character acting like Nagatoro is novel because they haven't actually read Nagatoro.

It is funny (in the joker way, as per usual) how so many people's lives were completely shattered over copyright trolling from companies who treated downloading a song as a capital offense but the moment they could make money on it themselves it instantly stopped being relevant

you may have noticed that animation has never been more in-demand & in the zeitgeist and yet, seemingly, never have media conglomerates been less willing to produce it. you may also notice these guys get multimillion dollar severance packages after they gut a studio. there is probably no connection

Reagan and Nixon were both failed actors, Ben Shapiro being a failed screenwriter (hell half the Daily Wire are failed artists of some kind), Hitler getting rejected from art school, being a failed artist is like the single most common RW origin story.

there’s one true answer but it’s the correct one five minutes after game of thrones - the last true monoculture show - ended, we all collectively agreed not to talk about it again, and house of the dragon/knight of the seven kingdoms haven’t recaptured a fraction of that cultural presence
