A spreadsheet model of the game. The main takeaway is the game usually ends in fleeing society (76%) or murder / weeping (18%), with a new genre of fiction being invented only 6% of the time. A typical game takes about 31 die rolls to complete.

There is a solo mode I need to check out and I have a bunch of expansions and doodads that came as stretch goals that we haven't checked out either. We wanted to play and get a hang of the base game first. Will need to play a few more times to formulate a definite opinion, but fun so far.

I thought that was a fun twist on the genre, like how Raiders of the North Sea has that fun place one, take one mechanic. It's well made with quality components. Not sure if that's because I backed a deluxe version (I don't remember what I backed) or if they all come like this.

But end the game with three as you lose one each round. The tokens are numbered 1-4 with the fifth being wild. The number on the token is how many spaces you move on the board (which also determines which ingredients you can forage or cook and serve meals). You choose which tokens you give up.

First impressions are positive. It's a euro worker placement game and if you've played one of those, you'll catch on quickly. One mechanic I thought was neat was the movement tokens. You start with five tokens to use in a round.

I agree completely with Malka's thread. I was co-editor of a web journal (The Journal of Mythic Arts) back in the 1990s, when every single page of it had to be coded by hand. It was hard work, but worth it to connect with a wide variety of other writers and artists working with myth & folklore.

I'll pickle, make relish, and freeze the green tomatoes. But what I am most delighted about are the Peter Piper peppers at the front. They look exactly like they were advertised on the seed packet and make me laugh.
