Did I have a nightmare the other night that I had to edit FROM THE SEA FRET in a way that destroyed the original story so that it made other people happy, and I was ashamed of the version that could trad pubbed? Maybe. (maybe this is a sign.....)

Exactly! You learn quickly what adds to the depth of the characters and what adds bloat. Certain things are important because of the narrative, while others are nothing more decoration and can be glossed over. Being able to see a physical version of that really helped

While I'm very tired. And very (VERY) ready to dive back into my writing more, I'm grateful for the experience. I met some lovely folks, and my art is better for it. Did I wish it didn't happen around my birthday? Sure. But I'm gonna go to the wrap party now, so that'll make up for some lost time.

I've also noticed that I've been a lot more critical, and a LOT more willing to cut things I previously loved. My darlings are being thoroughly killed, all while I squint at them to figure out why I'd written that in the first place.

As far as the impact on my art (mainly my writing) - this feature was a dramedy. It was very character-heavy. There were many discussions about characters and how they impacted their environment. This has carried over into my writing in the past few weeks

Milo (he/xe) 🏳️‍⚧️ 🇨🇦 @milosometimes.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

While there were a lot of pros, there were MANY cons. People I worked with, location, asks from the production, etc. etc. etc. I honestly feel like I aged 10 years in the last 4 weeks.

It was my first ever time being a production designer in any professional capacity. Honestly I have no clue why they trusted me with this, but they did. I'm glad they took a chance! I was able to prove to myself that I was capable of a creative project that large

Milo (he/xe) 🏳️‍⚧️ 🇨🇦 @milosometimes.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

AND THAT'S A WRAP on the show I just worked on. I know I mainly talk about writing on here, but this feature has been so influential to my art that it feels wild that it was only a month-long project

Milo (he/xe) 🏳️‍⚧️ 🇨🇦 @milosometimes.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Oh absolutely! Throughout the whole story, there's a clear difference in what the main character feels and what's considered "socially acceptable" to feel by those around him. He often hides his actual thoughts/feelings. #LGBTQWriteAThon #queerwriters

For the main character of my WIP, his fears and anxieties stem from the people he's surrounded by. Small town with closed-minded views and beliefs. Pair that with the rocky history he has with most of the residents, and you got a recipe for anxiety. #LGBTQWriteAThon #queerwriters

Meet Avery Miller and Tristan, the 2nd relationship in my upcoming novel, The Witch of Eden Hollow! Despite the restrictive laws of their town, Tristan is wholly devoted, and Avery is helplessly smitten. Out on Friday! 🌈📚️ Uni Link: books2read.com/u/mZR9kD Itch: gt-anthony.itch.io/witch-x-hunter

Image Background: a patch of daisies in the middle of a dense forest
Top Caption: Meet Avery Miller and Tristan Lowell

Lefthand Text:
Avery Miller fears his relationship with Tristan, the carpenter wholly devoted to him, being discovered by his father or their reverend. Eden Hollow's laws are restrictive when it comes to purity and identity, and Avery feared they would be condemned. Tristan, however, is willing to stick by Avery no matter what kind of scrutiny he faced.

With shame all but consuming him and their religion pushing his lover away, Avery also has an even bigger problem on his hands:
A newly awakened magic that may do him in faster than a relationship with another man ever could.

Righthand Image:
Digital Illustration made using Clip Studio Paint. Two men are holding each other and smiling. Their faces are slightly flushed.

The man on the left (Tristan) is a tall cis man with short, dark brown hair (plus a full beard) and green eyes. He's holding the other man's chin to tilt it up, his hand a little larger than average.
The man on the right (Avery) is a shorter, thin cis man with pale skin, long, black hair in a ponytail, freckles, and gray eyes. He has tired eyes but a sweet smile on his face while looking up at Tristan. He has his hand pressed against Tristan's forearm.

IN YOUR AFTERGLOW is an adult mystery/horror told in second person. Leo attempts to uncover the truth surrounding the suspicious death of his best friend in his (possibly haunted) small town. FIREWATCH (video game) x WEIRD OR WHAT (tv show) #LGBTQWriteAThon #queerwriters

A moodboard consisting of nine pictures.
A box cluttered with old letters.
The shadow of a figure in a window.
A large chain and padlock across a gate.
A car on a dirt road at night.
The text "I won't bury another friend".
A pile of dirt being shoveled.
Part of a tombstone.
A flashlight illuminating one section of woods.
Someone pulling a rolling set of blinds down with their finger to peer at the house across their street,
The background of the moodboard is of a foggy suburban street.
