Keller says that we need to stop "shooting ourselves in the foot". I agree. A great start would be if national newspaper columnists stopped trading in revisionist histories and lazy arguments and actually took the challenge -- and opportunity -- of a decarbonizing global economy more seriously.

@richards1052.wsocial.eu has had his account suspended for stating that an occupied population has the right to armed resistance. This is not a controversial stance as it is affirmed UNGA Resolution 3314 (1974) and reaffirmed in UNGA Reolution 37/43 (1982).

The Overton window has shifted so far right that I've seen him referred to as the "leader of the resistance" and "Obi Wan Kenobi". Limiting the right to strike, gutting environment and wildlife protections, privatizing airports..

By taxing the richest 0.3% of Canadians, some 133,000 people, we could raise $1 billion per year to go towards fixing our broken healthcare system, building affordable housing, or creating a national public grocery network to drive down the cost of groceries. No selling of our airports required.

Employers always want binding arbitration because it saves them from the onus of compromise, which strikes force them into. It always gives them the upper hand, if not the best outcome. If they wanted to be fair to workers they wouldn’t force them to strike.
